The long-awaited sequel to the 2001 blockbuster Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Gadar 2: Katha Continues is finally out and already breaking box office records. Starring Sunny Deol, Amisha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma. This movie is performing well at the box office, garnering a total collection of 299.98 crores and open to a massive response on Friday and collected around Rs. 40 crores on its first day. This is the second biggest opening day grosser for a Bollywood film in 2023 after Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan.
Gadar 2 is also breaking records in single-screen cinemas nationwide. In Delhi, the film grossed over Rs. 1 crore on opening day, the highest record for a Hindi film. The film’s success is due to its solid storyline, patriotic theme, and chemistry between the lead actors. Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel reunite for the first time since Gadar. Ek Prem Katha and their fans are in awe of their on-screen couple.
Gadar 2 also has the advantage of not having any major competition at the box office. The only major Bollywood releases this week are Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 and Rajinikanth’s The Jailer, but both films received lukewarm reviews.
Accordingly, ‘Gadar 2’ is expected to continue its march to No. 1 at the box office. The film is already on its way to becoming a blockbuster and may smash lifetime collections of Gadar’s first film.
